Public Administration and Policy

The Public Administration and Policy research group addresses socially relevant issues in the field of public administration practice as well as the development, implementation, and effect of public policies.

The research group unites several departmental researchers focusing on topics and issues in the field of public administration and public policies.

Group researchers strive to generate knowledge and insights capable of informing, developing, and qualifying the public sector, policy development and decision-making, as well as cross-level and interdisciplinary public administration and policies.

Hence the research comprises a broad range of subject areas, including public organisation and management, gender and politics, diversity and representation, lobbyism, and interest organisations, as well as the motivation, opinion formation, and behaviour of both public employees and the public.

The focus of the research group is characterised by a pluralistic and interdisciplinary approach, integrating elements from other areas and disciplines in the field of social science, embracing diversity in research methodology and perspectives.

International collaboration

Members of the Public Administration and Policy group regularly participate in international conferences and networks. The group’s research is published in recognised international journals and by academic publishers. Motivated by a desire for a vibrant interplay between research and society in broadest sense, group members frequently engage in debates, lectures, consultation work, reviews, and evaluations.
