Duration of the Phd study programme
A PhD study may take one of two forms. You may do your PhD either in the
- 5 + 3 study programme In this case you begin your PhD studies after completing a MSc degree equivalent to 5 years of studies. Thus, you will have 5 years of studies corresponding to the MSc degree followed by 3 years of PhD studies. You can read more under PhD study programme.
or in the
- 4 + 4 study programme If you choose this programme, you enroll in the PhD study programme after completing a BSc degree plus the equivalent of one year of studies at MSc level. You will enroll in both the MSc and the PhD programmes for two years, and by the end of these two years you must complete your MSc degree. You will receive two grant portions through the Danish State Education Grant and Loan Scheme each month for the first two year of the programme. Upon completion of the MSc degree you transfer to the two year salary earning part of the programme. More information is available under PhD study programme.
