Lene Holm Pedersen is professor in public management at the Department of Politcal Science and a director of research at VIVE . As a social scientist expert on public policy and management she conducts research on steering, motivation and performance in the public sector. It is a central question, how the dynamics between steering, leadership, and the public sector employees influence performance. In addition she is doing research on local democracy and financial management. Lene Holm's research project 'Rewards at the top' studies the pay of politicians. Here the focus is on how the citizens are willing to reward the politicians, what rewards the politicians prefer, and what rewards the politicians actually get.
