Britain is the first long-term victim of the wave of far-right politics washing across Europe. The impact of the combination of far-right, ultra-conservative, and neo-liberal politics leading to the illegal referendum result and ‘Brexit’ has many lessons for Swedish voices in Europe. The British lack of knowledge, widespread disinformation, and media lies on the EU, together with the negative and highly gendered consequences of leaving the EU, have huge lessons for Swedish membership of the EU.
