Internal seminars

Four times a year, internal seminars are held based on presentations of papers - "work in progress" authored by the PhD students. The internal seminars are the core of the PhD programme as it allows the student to improve their project through a presentation and subsequent feedback from both fellow students as well as internal and external opponents. The student may invite discussants with special expertise from outside the Department. The scholars themselves consider the internal seminars to be very useful due to the constructive criticism.

Each student must present a paper three times in total during the 3-year project period.

Attendance at the internal seminars is compulsory for anyone enrolled in the research program. Likewise, the students are obliged to participate as opponents.

Participation counts for 7½ ECTS.
