Freedom; an offer you can't refuse.: Danish concepts of integration in the debate on Muslim migrants
Activity: Talk or presentation types › Lecture and oral contribution
Ulrik Pram Gad - Lecturer
Migrants need to integrate. So everyone seems to agree in Danish parliamentary debates. But who is responsible for doing the integration? And what does it mean to be integrated? Basically, the two sides in parliament accuse each others of cultural racism and multiculturalism. The paper analyses how the attempt of the government to carve out a space for an alternative in the form of a liberal integration policy blind to culture has largely failed.
