Sanctions Busting at Sea: The Environmental Risks of the Global Shadow Fleet

Are our oceans at risk from a growing 'shadow fleet'? An increasing number of old and poorly maintained tankers are evading marine safety rules and carrying sanctioned Russian, Iranian, and Venezuelan oil around the world. Several accidents involving these vessels have already been reported. How can these risks in the Baltic Sea and elsewhere be better addressed?

Harassment and violence in local politics

Democracy rests on a clear premise: elected representatives stand, and act for the represented. When harassment and sexism inhibit candidates and officeholders from campaigning and fulfilling their representative duties, electoral integrity, democratic legitimacy, and descriptive and substantial representation are all harmed. In light of an increased (focus on) harassment in politics, we explore the character, explanations and consequences of violence and harassment in politics.
