The Gender of Critical Theory: seminar with Lois McNay

The political theory research group is pleased to host a seminar with Professor Lois McNay, Oxford University.

McNay is Fellow & Tutor in Politics (Somerville College), and Professor of Theory of Politics in the Department of Politics and International Relations, Oxford University. Her main interests are in continental social and political thought and feminist theory. She has a particular interest in the work of Michel Foucault, Pierre Bourdieu and the Frankfurt School Critical Theorists.

Professor McNay is the author of several books, including The Misguided Search for the Political (2014). At the seminar she will present parts of her new book, The Gender of Critical Theory.

The seminar will also include a presentation by Anne-Sofie Dichman (ph.d.-student, Department of Political Science), who will discuss some of her recent work on feminist theory and the Yellow Vest movement.
