25th Anniversary Lecture by Professor Ole Wæver

Join us as we celebrate Ole Wæver’s 25th anniversary as Professor of International Relations at Department of Political Science, University of Copenhagen

Ole Wæver was appointed Professor of International Relations on 1 April 1999.

Internationally, he is renowned for coining within security theory the concept of 'securitization' and as one of the main figures in developing what is often referred to as the 'Copenhagen School' in security studies. He has founded the Centre for Advanced Security Theory and the Centre for Resolution of International Conflicts. Moreover, Professor Wæver was elected to the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters in 2007 and received an honorary doctorate from University of Turku in 2015.
